The Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department’s Summer Swim Lesson Program

The Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department’s summer swim lesson program is designed to provide individuals of all ages with a safe and enjoyable learning experience in the water. The program will offer swimming and water safety instruction led by certified swim instructors.

Program Details

  • Swim lessons are available for individuals of all ages, including youth and adults.
  • The lessons will be led by certified swim instructors who are trained to teach a variety of skills and techniques.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to learn new skills and build confidence in the water.

Session 2 Monday-Thursday 9:45 a.m. Levels 1-2 (Ages 6-17)
Session 3 Monday-Thursday 10:15 a.m. Levels 3-4 (Ages 6-17)
Session 4 Monday-Thursday 10:45 a.m. Therapeutic (Children with disabilities; Ages 17 and under)
Session 5 Monday-Thursday 3 p.m. Toddlers (Age 5)
Session 6 Monday-Thursday 3:30 p.m. Levels 1-2 (Ages 6-17)
Session 7 Monday-Thursday 4 p.m. Levels 3-4 (Ages 6-17)

Registration and Cost

Registration for the summer swim lesson program will open on Thursday, May 1, and can be completed in person at the Smith-Hazel Recreation Center, 416 Kershaw St. S.E., or online at cityofaikensc.recdesk.com and search โ€œSwim Lessonsโ€ under programs.

The cost of the program is $30 per participant.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance, as the program has limited capacity.

Additionally, applications for the Fun Funds Youth Scholarship are available to help offset the swim lesson cost for those who qualify.
